The Terror Tax

The Jewish ex-Democrat, Senator Joe Lieberman, is suggesting that Americans pay a "war on terrorism tax" to cover the astronomical expenses from the idiotic wars in the Middle East and the domestic police state. This is sleight of hand -- as is all government spending.

Fundamentally, our income taxes don't pay for anything other than Federal Reserve loans. Schools and highways are funded through such things as property taxes and sales taxes. When the federal government wants money for the war on terror, it acquires the cash from the Fed. Our income taxes actually pay the interest on the accruing national debt.

This week, President Bush asked Congress for an additional $700 billion for defense. With no success in Iraq and war looming with Iran, this is but a foretaste of the massive spending to come. And through it all, the Religious Right remains as quiet as a church mouse.
