Scientific vs Christian Society

"In terms of this evolutionary perspective, science is not so much the understanding of things as the controlling of things. The government and providence of God are replaced by the government and providence of man, and the divine predestination gives way to predestination by scientific planners. A Christian society, by leaving predestination to God, leaves man in liberty and denies the right of independent control to any human agency; all human powers and authorities are carefully governed and circumscribed by the Word of God. A scientific society, in order to be scientific must bring all things under the strict control of scientists so that, by means of the law of controlled causation, the desired results can be socially and individually attained." ~ R. J. Rushdoony, The Mythology of Science, 30.
