Chalcedon is a non-profit organization established
in 1965. The name Chalcedon comes from the
Council of Chalcedon of A.D. 451. At this
church council, the unity of Christ's divine
and human natures was defined and his Lordship
proclaimed. As opposed to the claims of the
state to be god on earth, Jesus Christ is
the one, unique incarnation of God, and man's
only Savior. In a day when the state presents
itself as man's savior and hope, the standard
of Chalcedon remains a fitting one.
Our goal is to educate people in the Biblical
standards for life, both individual and social.
We believe there can be no solution to personal
or societal problems other than those the
Bible offers. To this end, we offer the following:
- Faith For All of Life, a monthly
magazine examining critical issues
in Biblical perspective and presenting
Chalcedon's Position Papers.
- Books, Journals and Symposia, including
works by Chalcedon writers and other important
authors (http://www.chalcedonstore.com).
- Video, audio cassettes and CDs, DVDs and MP3s produced by
Chalcedon. Nearly 1,000 tapes and over 1500 MP3s are currently
available (http://www.chalcedonstore.com).
- Monographs and Pamphlets, featuring short,
hard-hitting essays on a variety of topics
(http://www.chalcedonstore.com).
In addition, Chalcedon scholars lecture
internationally and have appeared in a variety
of media. New outreach endeavors are being
developed to extend our educational and media
ministries.
In an era of uncertainty and fear of doom,
Chalcedon presents a message of victory and
envisions our age as a great opportunity
for the consistent Biblical Christian. By
your interest and support, you have become
a part of this movement toward godly reconstruction.
We function because of your gifts. Thus,
we appreciate and welcome your financial
support, without which we cannot exist. God
requires tithing our income and avoiding
long-term debt. We have no large grants or
regular sources of income; and since we do
not believe in deficit financing, your giving
establishes the parameters of our work, humanly
speaking.
Thank you,
Mark R. Rushdoony
President
